When you see the Sun in the morning. Notice how it's cool and very weak.

Then it climbs up in the sky and gets brighter and stronger.

Then it reaches its peak and it's brightness becomes maximum.

And then it starts to descend from there. And noticeably becomes cooler and cooler. But it still has light.

Then it eventually approaches the horizon becoming weak and cool.

Then it begins to set, very weak and no light.

Then it sets at last. It won't be seen for some time now. Until eventually, it rises again!

This is how your life is too. You are born weak, then you slowly grow and become strong. Then you reach your peak.

And after the peak, you start to descend slowly. You start to become weaker and weaker. You still have some strength but not as before. Eventually you become very weak.
Then you look exactly as you were at the beginning of your life.

And then you finally meet your demise.

And then you won't be seen for a long time. Until eventually, you are brought back to life by Allah when the final times arrive.

When you do the sacrifice on the day of Eid.
You probably don't feel too much grief since you most likely bought the animal very recently.

However if you had spent some time with the sacrificial animal. It will hurt you quite a bit.

If it has been more than a year, it will definitely hurt you.

Now you most likely cannot imagine yourself sacrificing a pet of yours except that it would cause you a tremendous amount of sadness.

Can you imagine sacrificing your firstborn (usually more beloved) and only child, a son very beloved to you, finally born when you have reached old age? People who have children will understand this better because they know how close and beloved a child is to the parent.

Ibrahim عليه السلام, Khaleelullah. He was the one who was tested with this severe test. He still obeyed Allah and carried out the command that was given to him. What an amazing example of Taqwa!

I didn’t know this about Eid! Thanks for sharing. How much more so is the sacrifice of God’s *own* son for us?

We know,
Calling upon Allah = Dua
Dua = worship
Major Shirk = worship directed to other than Allah
Major Shirk = Kufr

Dua directed to other than Allah = worship directed to other than Allah

From above equations we know,
Major Shirk = worship directed to other than Allah

So,
Dua directed to other than Allah = Major Shirk
Dua directed to other than Allah = Kufr
