I got so caught up in my gaming that I nearly forgot about working on these - I'll get back to VorteX in a bit, but first...

[IIII. L'Empereur]

The Emperor of Marseilles... I mean, why not have an empire there? They've already got a palace... anyway, much like with L'Imperatrice, this card also includes the historical element of having the Holy Roman Emperor's coat of arms somewhere in the image (very much like with the real card) - seems like we've caught this Emperor in the middle of his smoke break... Emperors did that back in the day, right? I'm not well-versed in this sort of thing... but let's leave the man to his own devices for now.

[III. L'Imperatrice]

The Empress... if you recall the P3&4 deck, there's not much new to say here, though I do find it interesting that this version of the card preserves the historical element in which the Empress keeps the Holy Roman Emperor's coat of arms by her side - I'd question the decorum of sitting on the imperial throne with her legs spread like that, but I don't think I want to risk getting beat over the head with her scepter.

[II. La Papesse]

The High Priestess... or just The Priestess in this instance (or The Popess, if translated literally). Some tarot decks replaces the priestess on the card with an image of the Roman goddess Juno, but that doesn't seem to be the case in P5 - I do wonder what religious order this priestess belongs to... must be a rather lax one if they let her look at naughty magazines.

[I. Le Bateleur]

The Magician... though, unlike other depictions of the card from earlier in the series, this one eschews the "spellcaster" mystique in favor of accurately reflecting the "street performer" of the real card - looking at some of the props on this illusionist's table, I have some serious questions about what his last magic act was ("What the FUCK did you do just now? Is that real blood on the knife?").

It dawned on me that I hadn't done anything with this model in quite a while, so took that opportunity while experimenting with Zoom Blur on background patterns...

...admittedly, very little progress has been made on her V3, so I used V2.5 again (though I DID accidentally turn V3 into an "overly curvaceous Dural" once while experimenting with environment maps (wish I had screencapped that)).
