@nprofile1q..., I used to work in the ethanol-to-fuel supply chain, and I agree it’s a very odd system. Pure, drinkable ethanol can’t be transported because of the drinking risk. So gasoline from the refinery is shipped to and mixed with the ethanol at the plant, and then the ethanol mix is shipped to the refinery where it’s mixed with more gasoline.
Ethanol has an octane rating of 110 there's a market for this stuff in performance cars.
