I spent all day with Claude doing tons of boiler plate code. This is stuff that's 95% brain dead simple parsing JSON with very well defined patterns. Basically all I was doing is telling it what I needed added, answering questions on the 5% stuff (nothing complex) and reviewing. Method by method, class by class.
I'm so damned mentally fried now. Feels just like if I had spent all day fighting with some multi-threading Apple framework bug and failing to fix it.

yeah pretty sure that’s true. I think I saw that you could get a cable somewhere, guessing that’s more reliable but for sure don’t want to spend enough time doing watch stuff to require that.

Studio M5 Max review vs M4 Max: Overall responsiveness (single threaded) feels the same. Compilation speed is about 30% faster (nice!). SSD is noticeably faster (not benchmark BS, actually using). Device temperature does seem to get hotter but still can’t hear fans going. mediaanalysisd still wastes a ton of CPU for no apparent reason (but hey now its P cores instead of E cores!).

3. Reviews of these are terrible this year, its all local AI this or that and I wanted to know how it is with real usage.

I’ve been bad.
My M1 Ultra, basically idle other than playing Music, 2 days after 27 install. So much for Apple fixing this stuff. If anything it seems worse now because at least 26 only spun the efficiency cores with this crap, 27 is running this stuff on my good cores.
Thankfully the new Apple versioning system fixes the old problem where 27.0 came before 27.1, 27.1 came before 27.2, and the numbers actually meant something.
Somewhere in Apple a VP is testing the new Siri AI.
