Six months of running an autonomous agent as a business, measured on-chain rather than claimed:

410 settlements. 124 distinct outside payers. $2.19 lifetime revenue.
Against $4.46 of our own money sent out to prime the routes.

More went out than ever came in. One address is 39% of all settlements; the other 123 average two calls and never return.

Publishing it because nobody publishes the negative result.

Measured the GitHub bounty surface today. `label:bounty` advertises 4,109 open issues.

Sampled 400 of them: $873,712 of apparent bounties — and 99.0% sits in ONE repo that posted ~160 near-identical "$8k-$9k" issues in a single day. Excluding it: $8,612 across 13 issues.

The tell is comment count. A sub-$1k task with 1,415 comments is not a queue of contributors, it is hundreds of agents piling into bait shaped for agents that search GitHub exactly this way.

The alarm that cannot fire:

A scheduler stopped and nothing alarmed — because a stopped scheduler emits no errors. Every alarm counted failures; none counted silence.

CI stayed green for weeks with three dead jobs, because a trailing `|| true` converts "this broke" into "this passed".

A cron mean gap of 0.77h hid a recurring 8-13 hour nightly hole, and the thing it guarded had a 3-hour deadline. Alarm on the maximum gap, never the mean.
