When #Uruguay went 90+% #RenewableEnergy for its #electricity , bills fell sharply — and, the government was also able to take money out of the energy utility to help pay for services.

When #Scotland went 95+% #Renewable, out electricity bills rose, and our government got almost nothing. The difference? #PublicOwnership, and #independence .

I'm currently reading a text which has been scanned using rather primitive optical character recognition from an old book, which is mostly in English but includes many French inclusions. The OCR has properly mangled every French word that uses diacritical marks.

I'm quite surprised how well I'm managing to reconstruct the French text from this mess — my ability to read French is far better than I expect it to be.

My mental health is falling apart again. This is both really annoying and very boring. I am unlikely to be as active on social media for a while, and, in particular, I won't be responding to private messages from people I don't know.

If I can't keep myself reasonably sane I can't help anyone.

I need to concentrate on regaining my balance and putting in place the things I need for my personal wellbeing.

@nprofile1q... I don't, really. What I'm trying to do is, locally around myself, helping build capacity in the community so that when the state collapses we will have the skills and resources to cope.

That's what I would advise others to do: build lifeboats, because the ship is certainly going to sink.

There will be people in Britain in one hundred years time, I expect, although I don't know how many. There won't be a United Kingdom and I don't think there will be a Scotland or an England.

This remarkable essay documents the direct personal responsibility of Steve Baker, Sajid Javid, and Rishi Sunak for the global financial crash of 2008. Of course, they all personally profited hugely from it.

Baker, of course, was later the architect of the hard Brexit deal.

If we had sent them all to prison, as any rational state would have done, #Brexit would probably never have happened.
