Miria, gouache painting (A4)

The first time I used gouache I got it completely wrong, and since then it was stuck as an accessory for watercolor, so I tried painting with just gouache again (but less wrong)
Also, I have now drawn Miria in every medium that I'd want to use as primary (digital/alcohol markers/acrylic/watercolor/gouache). Colored pencils are a great auxillary but as primary... I value my wrists.

Kozue, acrylic painting (A3)

Painted most of this while I had no power and no internet, so I had no access to references, but at least I could paint at all! If I was still digital-only I'd be incapacitated.
I didn't like the colors I initially chose for the background so I repainted it... three times... which is how I ended up with whatever it is. There was also supposed to be a pillow but I didn't like it either, so I just erased it from existence by painting over. Acrylic is funny.

Chie, acrylic painting (A4; 8h 11m)

I tried to pull a 1-day painting yesterday with (mostly) leftover paint from Kurumi but didn't quite make it, had to finish it today.
Nowhere near as fast as markers obviously (and it will never be, painting is much more work-intensive), but I think I got the basic process down and if I just flesh it out with some practice I could both improve and cut the time by a lot.

Ohnuma Kurumi swimsuit, acrylic painting (A3)

Reposting off twitter because I have a bunch to say.
I feel like I made a lot of progress with acrylics and I'm starting to understand how to organize the painting process (until now it's mostly been ad hoc improvisation)
I had a lot of leftover paint mixes after this, and acrylic is very much "use it or lose it", so I immediately painted another thing which I will post later today.

Happy birthday Miria!

Most important drawing of the year (used to be the only one I'd finish, lol). Watercolor + gouache, A3.

I originally planned for it to be acrylic but once I settled on the idea I thought watercolor would be a better fit, despite the risk and my very limited experience. I was really scared of ruining it, but while I messed up plenty, I'm happy that none of the mistakes have been fatal.

Airi paizuri, watercolor + gouache painting.

Boob jumpscare. My deremas top 10 is populated almost entirely by lolis or around that... and then there's Airi.
It's interesting that many alcohol marker techniques are transferable to watercolor, they strangely share a lot of similarities (the difference mostly comes down to water vs alcohol), which cannot really be said for the other paints.

Twice the rings.

Silly idea that I thought I'd draw with markers, but I really wanted to try out canvas paper that I just got. Changed the approach quite dramatically, I mostly applied heavy body paint directly instead of watering it down (previously I used watercolor paper)
