If you’re going to grow or scale a health or wellness service business, you gotta love people. Taking care of your team is your job as a CEO.

The thing that’s hard to figure out is what is motivating each individual person in your business.

There have to be so many layers of behavioral motivators in place in a larger business to keep everyone engaged in their work and motivated to do well.

I’d love to hear what motivates you in your work.

Is it:
A. Money
2. Benefits (medical, PTO, etc)
3. Team/community/support
4 Mission/making a difference
5. Flexibility
6. ????

Even in the age of robots. People are your business.

For me, team and mission. Wild how far a good job goes from your peers and superiors.

I'd say the right amount of money motivates most people but it doesn't necessarily activate their inner fire. Benefits and flexibility are nice to have, but a great team and especially a shared vision is what really motivates people in my opinion!

My favorite made-up word is ā€œFail-learnā€ (noun): when something didn’t go as planned & felt painful or embarrassing …but you chose to learn from it rather than be overcome by it and defined by it.

Service-based business owners managing a large team: how’s hiring going right now?

For me, it’s been hard.

I feel like the more I offer in terms of pay and benefits, the HARDER it has become to fill full-time roles in my therapy practice.

Some biz owners over on IG mentioned that maybe people aren’t looking for full time now—they want part time flexible work that they can cobble together with other part time gigs.

The problem is that the part-timers are never really fully invested in the mission of the business and it makes it reallllly hard to schedule meetings or other staff gatherings if we have lots of part time employees. But I’m considering it….

I’m curious if other business owners are struggling to hire now too.

Tell me about Nostr like I’m a 3-year-old or maaaybe a 5-year-old….

I understand that it is a decentralized technology & that it allows for freedom and privacy and ownership of your own content.

I don’t understand at all when people talk about Nostr products…???

I know I could ask AI but this will be more fun to hear from real people!

Nostr products are just things people sell using Prima/nostr. I don't think its an official thing yet like FB marketplace but that's probably gonna happen

Just ordered a @daylightco DC-1 today (business expense, right?!) šŸ˜‰and I CANNOT WAIT for it to arrive! & I’m going to recommend the Daylite Kids computer to all 3000+ families on our parent email list this month. We need to protect young kids from excessive screen use more than ever…and I love that it can be used OUTSIDE! šŸŒ³ā˜€ļø

You're gonna love it. I recommend a Bluetooth or wired keyboard and kickstand case and you got yourself a workstation.
