"Onizuka is a terrible teacher"

Wait, so the 22 former motorcycle gang leader, who decided to get a job as a teacher just so he could creep on teenage girls into his 40s, isn't a good teacher?

I remember hearing about this show as a kid, but I just started watching it and it's shocking how bad it is.

The concept is kind of neat. Humans fleeing to find Earth after their civilization was destroyed by robots who can also blend in, slowing destroying what is left of them from within. I think that should have been the extent of it.

But most of the actors are just horrible. The actual plot is literally schizophrenic and it's impossible to tell what is actually happening. The casting is awful. It feels like this was ground zero for the "girl boss" character. Like every character was a girl boss. The show is just women acting like men. One of the robots in disguise says something like "My ancestors on the centurion line of my family were slaves to humanity, and I want justice for that." Robots don't have sex, wtf does he mean by "line of my family" Was his great grandpappy one of those robot arms in a car factory, except this factory made robots? There is also some sort of paganism vs Christianity thing going on. It's all just stuff that feels deep but isn't, like Evangelion. Oh, and the fate of humanity hinges on a guy with yellow fever getting his sexbot pregnant or something, again idk. Pretty much every character on the screen ends up being a robot, but also they are not doing anything evil for some reason despite that being their state goal.

It was probably able to get away with some of this stuff because of how "novel" some of that might have been to audiences in the 2000s, but if this show was made today, people would mock it to shreds.

I went to Walmart today, and I had to let a man who should be in a retirement home look at my receipt so I could leave, after buying something that needed to be unlocked and carried to the register.

I drove down the road, and saw a McDonald's that was basically abandoned, as the entire parking lot was filled with a dozen or so homeless people camping there.

Then I get online, and I see a video of a woman being beaten while carrying a get well present, seemingly for no reason. And the general reaction is "we need to punish the gosh darn animal who did this!!1"

Punishing one guy will not save the next victim from another random assault. It will not save the next business from a massive homeless camp. It will not make it so I can buy stuff without waiting for someone to unlock it. It will not make it so an 80 year old isn't looking at my receipt when I try to leave. This is like suggesting you start taking an aspirin when you have stage four cancer. I can't believe people are okay living like this.

Man, people have no idea how bad things are about to become.
