I wonder how Microsoft feels, watching thousands of people playing ports of Halo 1 that were built almost overnight, running on everything from a web browser to a potato, with 128 player co-op matches, just after they had to shutter the studio that made Halo after they released a DEI-core remake that didn't even have multiplayer.

If you join any clubs that cater to anything non-media related in meat-space (some that I've joined include astronomy clubs, a photography club, a rock climbing / hiking group, and art club) it's ALL filled with nothing but 60 year olds, and they will basically alienate you from the start. They will treat you like shit because they see you as an outsider coming to ruin their club (kind of based in a way now that I think about it). There will always be one who is excited to "show you the ropes" which really means tell you things you already know as an attempt to impress you (it's like mansplaining but real).

If you want to interact with your peer group, they are all on discord, and it's very extremely gay, and instead of the show off boomer, it's the head tranny janny that takes that role (but he might also be in his 60s while pretending to be in college so who knows).

Meanwhile creatives will only do stuff for profit or attention now. Do you write music? Quick, only write cover songs of things that are stupidly popular. Actually, don't even write anything, like, just slow it down and add reverb!

Wait, so the 22 former motorcycle gang leader, who decided to get a job as a teacher just so he could creep on teenage girls into his 40s, isn't a good teacher?

I remember hearing about this show as a kid, but I just started watching it and it's shocking how bad it is.

The concept is kind of neat. Humans fleeing to find Earth after their civilization was destroyed by robots who can also blend in, slowing destroying what is left of them from within. I think that should have been the extent of it.

But most of the actors are just horrible. The actual plot is literally schizophrenic and it's impossible to tell what is actually happening. The casting is awful. It feels like this was ground zero for the "girl boss" character. Like every character was a girl boss. The show is just women acting like men. One of the robots in disguise says something like "My ancestors on the centurion line of my family were slaves to humanity, and I want justice for that." Robots don't have sex, wtf does he mean by "line of my family" Was his great grandpappy one of those robot arms in a car factory, except this factory made robots? There is also some sort of paganism vs Christianity thing going on. It's all just stuff that feels deep but isn't, like Evangelion. Oh, and the fate of humanity hinges on a guy with yellow fever getting his sexbot pregnant or something, again idk. Pretty much every character on the screen ends up being a robot, but also they are not doing anything evil for some reason despite that being their state goal.

It was probably able to get away with some of this stuff because of how "novel" some of that might have been to audiences in the 2000s, but if this show was made today, people would mock it to shreds.
