@nprofile1q... I've been wanting to look into RISCV for a while, but I have no real use-case for a machine, which means it's hard to narrow down the specs I'd want (and a workstation-level machine would be quite expensive). Any surprising use-cases I might have missed?

@nprofile1q... Not to tell you how to run your machines, but I recommend something like ulogd and tweaking the firewall rules, to keep dmesg a bit cleaner. I've had a case many years back where fw DROP messages outcrowded messages about a failing disk (yesyes, log monitoring etc, still.)

@nprofile1q... Ah, I just figured it out now: you can only set the server to sync with on account creation, not afterwards.

@nprofile1q... Do you use a different browser-side extension than the default one? Mine doesn't seem to have any setting where I can point it at a private server. I tried figuring this out a bit back and so never got started on the server-side setup.

@nprofile1q... Rosin (or rather in this case: flux residue) is not necessarily corrosive. Some are, some aren't. The classic way to remove it is Isopropyl alcohol (IPA). I usually cover the PCB with some kitchen towel or similar (the more tear-resistant, the better), soak it in 50/50 IPA/distilled water and scrub the whole thing with a toothbrush. The IPA and toothbrush loosen the gunk, and the paper towel picks it up. Repeat as necessary and do a final flush with distilled water.
