Yes, but what female scifi (NOT fantasy) authors would you recommend? I'd say Ryka Aoki Light from Uncommon Stars, The Stars are Legion by Kameron Hurley, and Margaret Killjoy's The Lamb Will Slaught...

@nprofile1q... Mary Robinette Kowal's "Lady Astronaut" series is a fun alt-history, like "For All Mankind".

I'm a huge and enduring fan of Lois McMaster Bujold's SF: she has created a fun world filled with fascinating people.

C. J. Cherryh is probably my favorite hard SF author of all time, and one of the few authors who I think can combine deftly "highly personal" and "high concept" writing.

N. K. Jemisin's "Broken Earth" trilogy is brilliant, but pretty dark. I love all her stuff, though.
