yea this is my thought as well but its harder to suppress bitcoin with paper since self custody is easier than gold
we live in a bubble, most of the newbs are happy with hot wallets, third parties. this way, there’s tons of fresh paper btc to use to short the real deal
Pretty sure they did the same thing with metals and now we’re seeing the result of it.
Sure it suppresses price for a while, but eventually things come back to reality.
Metals are just catching up...
i was kinda expecting that answer;) it’s all about how long they’re able to suppress this. there’s no street in the market now, apart from maxis, the liquidity is dry as it gets.;)

hot take, read some time ago post on 4chan about the approvement of the ibit etf beeing kiss of death to btc.
blackrock getting inflows of cash to buy then short btc to buy back lower btc then short it again as an infinite loop till it smells like shit to the average joe
nothing changes fundamentally for btc, but bad press and results do their job…
