I'm always trying to stretch a dollar and make food my people actually love, and this is one of those meals that does both. I take my favorite bread recipe, add chicken I got on sale for $1, cheese, and a LOT of seasoning before the second rise, then roll it up and bake it. About $1.50 for the bread, $1 for the chicken, $1 for the cheese, plus seasoning—and it feeds us for days. What's your favorite cheap meal that doesn't feel cheap?

These dish rags are about 8 years old. I paid $10 for them and I really should have replaced them by now... but I can't. 😂 They clean better than anything else and somehow always come clean. Why replace something that still works? What's the oldest thing in your house that you're still happily using?

One of our best little money-saving habits is only shopping once a week. If I find something online that I want, it goes in the cart and usually sits there until the end of the month. By then, half the time I don't even want it anymore! 😂 We make exceptions when we actually need something or there's a sale worth waiting for. I'm doing that right now with our deodorant because I know it will be cheaper soon. What little shopping rule has saved you money?

Proof that "free and functional" beats "pretty and expensive" every time!

I made this clothespin holder out of a hanger, leftover thread, and scrap fabric. Looks a little silly, but it works great on the line and didn't cost a dime to make.

Do you have a weird homemade tool you won't replace 'cause it just works? Show me yours! 👇

10 minutes of prep tonight = a smoother morning and extra money in your pocket tomorrow.

Mine's getting tomorrow's coffee, breakfast, and lunch ready. What's the one quick thing you prep that saves you from spending on convenience later?

Living frugally isn't about saying "no" to everything — it's about saying "yes" to what actually matters to your family. 💡

What's the big goal or dream your frugal choices are helping fund right now?

Hot chocolate packets used to be a cheap cold-weather staple, but now stores want $1.99 for 6 packets or $5 for a box of K-Cups! ☕

We switched to making our own mix in bulk for pennies per cup and it tastes richer.

What's one thing at the grocery store that you have stopped buying because the costs make you do a double take?

Aaron has been wearing these shorts since we started dating over 12 years ago! They're showing their 15+ years of wear, but I'm fixing the pockets today to keep 'em going. 🧵🪡

Be honest: If shorts like this were sitting in your fix-it pile, are you mending them yourself, taking them to a tailor, or putting them straight in the yard sale pile?

Those shorts have clearly earned their keep after twelve years, so mending them yourself is the only answer that honors that kind of loyalty. 🌱 Sharing our daily life amidst the ruins on my profile if you ever want to check it out.

Are you a "buy it immediately" shopper, or do you hold out until the price is right? Aaron needed a coat upgrade, but he refused to pull the trigger until the deal made sense. Patience paid off — we found a lightweight, 3-season waterproof jacket marked down from $89.99 to just $14.99 at an outlet store! Fits him just right and saved us $75.

What's the best "patience paid off" clearance deal you've ever found?

A sudden temperature drop from the 90s down to the 70s in under 24 hours was our wake-up call — winter is right around the corner!

Before the cold hits, we check our batteries and radios to make sure they're charged up. Scrambling when you actually need 'em takes way more time, and this costs us $0.

What's the first thing you check when the seasons start changing?

We don't toss a good glass jar. Ours hold dry goods, leftovers, snacks to go — you already paid for that jar at the store, may as well keep using it. Do you keep yours or throw them out?

We have way too many jars at this point lol… We might keep one to use for bacon grease but that’s about it…

Some get broken and placed in the tannerite filled garden gnomes... maybe. 😁 Honestly, why would anyone throw away a good glass jar, I have shelves of them.
