@nprofile1q... hey Jack! When you install Vivaldi you can choose one of the layout presets, that can help.
Otherwise, you don't need to take too many decisions in the beginning, the settings are just there for you to tweak if you ever need to. Some basic customization options:
- Tab Bar position: top, bottom, left or right.
- Auto-hide UI: toolbars that disappear unless you hover over them. You can choose which toolbars.
- Buttons can be removed by right clicking on them > Remove from toolbar.
- The same goes for panels you might not use, just remove the button for a cleaner UI.
- Web panels on the sidebar give you quick access to the sites you visit often. Add your favourites so it feels yours.
- Choose a theme that you like by going to settings > Themes.
- And for tab management, you can either create Workspaces for different projects/areas of interest, or create tab groups by dragging one tab upon the other. These stacks can be renamed and color-coded.
I think that would be enough to begin with, hope it helps! 🙂

@nprofile1q... I'm sorry to hear that's been your experience. Our QA team does thorough testing, but what's broken for some, isn't for most. That's why we rely on bug reporting from the community to fix things!
Some of the reasons why people like us:
- We listen to user feedback and talk to them.
- We are based in Norway and Iceland, where there are stronger privacy laws.
- We don't track user behavior or collect data to be later sold to third-parties. Synced data is encrypted and stored in our own servers in Iceland, and we don't have access to it.
- We think out of the box and develop features that we think are useful for people. But! We believe everyone is different and we allow things to be disabled.
- Precisely because everyone's different, we add customization options so that everyone can adjust the look and feel of the browser to what they like.

Alternatively you can export your feeds as an OPML file (File > Export > Export Feeds) and then import it on the other device (File > Import from applications or files > Feeds (OPML file). Note that this won't save your read/unread statuses.
