@nprofile1q... I think that the economics of the Chinese companies are quite interesting, and easy to overlook. There's more pressure to be unit profitable today because of open models and less VC cash sloshing around. It'll be interesting to see where things land.

@nprofile1q... Small scale agriculture is not economical. You can do it, and it can be worthwhile in other ways. But you cannot earn a living from a small plot of land due to both efficiency and volume problems.

Things have been a bit touch-and-go here for me, but it's been nice to talk to folks within the community about the stuff that's been on my mind. Thank you all for the many, many conversations I've had over the past few days.

As a bonus for staying around, here's are two pictures of very small (quarter-sized) crabs I saw yesterday! Pretty sure these are Oregon Shore Crabs: there were hundreds of them all over the beach!
