What I heard said wasn’t so much about signing but rather that certain hardware IDs would offer ownership proof. They said also to keep any original transaction or wallet data. Longshot but why burn it if it could help.

I think it will. Recently watched a video covering all the patents RockStar has filed for this game. Some of the tech is absolutely game changing, so to speak.
