In this video, I share my thoughts on the Superbowl Coinbase ad, which featured a clever use of karaoke to get people at Superbowl parties singing "Everybody" by The Backstreet Boys. It worked, however, the viral reactions of groups of people mocking the emergence of the coinbase logo show just how far cryptocurrency has to go to earn back its reputation. Comparing this to the unbearably cringe "Bitcoin Commencement Speech" at Ohio State a few years ago, I reason that a shift from moonboyism is the only way to keep things moving forward.
