We had an event at work once where the fire alarms went off and the girl in the back didn't even hear it because of the fans and AC luckily we went and got her. But that place had halon.

Everywhere I've worked where you need hearing protection would not let you use these because you need to be able to still hear your environment somewhat so you're not allowed to play music unless it's a Bluetooth speaker
