For.. reasons.. I am making a wealth inequality playlist. I posted an earlier version about 10 hours ago. This is the latest version reflecting everyone's feedback. Remember, I want songs that aren't ...
@nprofile1q... Song of the South by Alabama? It even ends with the family coming out of poverty thanks to a New Deal program.
Well, somebody told us Wall Street fell
But we were so poor that we couldn't tell
Cotton was short, and the weeds were tall
But Mr. Roosevelt a-gonna save us all
Well, momma got sick, and daddy got down
The county got the farm, and they moved to town
Poppa got a job with the TVA
We bought a washin' machine and then a Chevrolet

I see it's once again time to post this: https://taggart-tech.com/discord-alternatives
@nprofile1q... the first company I worked for used Rocket.Chat for their IMs and it worked better than MS Teams or Google Chat, both of which I've used at later employers. Didn't look as flashy but it was far more stable. I really hope they stick with it for my old coworkers' sake.
It is true that I've listened to Pinar Toprak — primarily Captain Marvel — but not that album. So maybe there's a mix-up? 🤷🏼♀️ Either way, a very strange artifact.
@nprofile1q... I think that album is just the artist image for Pinar Toprak in YouTube music. I've seen that happen with other non-mainstream artists before.
It’s my first Veterans Day away from the country that I spent my youth serving, and which has become unrecognizable. I gave a talk and drank a lot of gin.
@nprofile1q... happy veterans day and thank you for your service, bittersweet as that may be now.
@nprofile1q... glad you threw in the bit about Andreessen being on Meta's board of directors. My first thought was if Meta/X/etc could bring legal action against a16z for backing a company that aims to break their ToS, but that's not likely if he's involved on both sides. It's the social media equivalent of being an arms dealer selling weapons to both armies.
As much as I love the job security, someone is going to have to stop these AI bros before they have us watering the crops with Brawndo.

@nprofile1q... that second post is a perfect example of Chesterton's fence.
"Do not remove a fence until you know why it was put up in the first place."
"Do not remove a fence until you know why it was put up in the first place."
@npub17lgy0... to be fair, rewriting with AI is exactly what most corporations want. It's more grammatically correct with far less personality and little risk of offending people.
@npub1utv8f... @npub1rafme... I heard this week's Rocket and I'm sad, but understanding. This podcast is the only one where I truly never know what I'm going to hear about but I always know it would be a good time. You've covered absolutely everything like big tech, F1, scam artists, a Congressional run, junk food, Taylor Swift, Porsches, pinball, YouTube drama, bad financial decisions, and the best ad reads in the business. I hope that in everything you do going forward you 3 will do incredible things!
