They essentially created a stable coin backed by bitcoin last year (STRC) that currently pays 11% annually. Banks are going to start buying this and raising their yields in their savings accounts (6%?) and keeping the difference . All that money flows straight into bitcoin which strengthens the credit and makes more people buy it.
This thing is a fucking black hole and as soon as you see it the volatility in price is nothing. They’re still up 300% in 6 years after adopting their Bitcoin strategy.
There is approximately $300T of capital locked in fixed income markets that they are competing with to let Bitcoin vacuum up. They issue common stock so that the fixed income dividends are tax deferred and to grow their capital base in order to issue more credit against it. There will likely not be such large premiums in the future but they will likely be a $10-50T company in my lifetime if Bitcoin does what we think it will.
