It is a bit insane that on mastodon I keep seeing so much bluesky outrage being screenshotted, bridged across, and trending.

You folks need to spend more energy on things that actually fix the US than looking at social media for collective outrage.

Saw a post on social media that jokes “Linus Torvalds has been vibe coding for ages: difference is he mostly review PR from other human contributors instead of LLM outputs.”

And think to myself: so this is how some people saw open source contributors, or perhaps programmers in general.

And that’s probably why some people are so excited about LLM: they don’t want to pay or manage people.

It was a conscious decision to skip the human part of open source.

I highly doubt Linus was doing that.
