And after asking that, I am wondering how late were Grubenhäuser constructed? I tend to place them in the Roman Iron Age and just a little bit later.

I'm hoping to find a few Fedizins who dry/dehydrate fruit, specifically cherries.

Have you ever dried sweet cherries and ALSO tart/pie cherries before? Was there any difference in the taste of the final products?
