If you run a "legit" (in gov. Books/KYC'd) business which accepts bitcoin through something like BitPay, Paypal, or Coinbase (let me know other mainstream solutions which I've missed) have you ever heard of someone paying with non-KYC funds and running in to issues? Or is this no problem?

Help a retard today and answer my question ๐Ÿ˜… thanks.

Never had it happen but I have had accounts frozen for being too close to some coins the govt didnt like. Told them to kick rocks w their questions and eventually they unfroze it. Other good mainstream solutions include square and open node. If you want to host your own wallet, btcpayserver and Bitc...

Are you a #Cypherpunk or a #Cypherposer?

In the punk rock scene there were true punks, living and embodying the punk ethos of rebellion against the established order. Sometimes they might have mohawks etc, but sometimes they might look like Joe next door, but they would embody the culture, dare I say the "esoteric" or internal and DIY principles of punk. Then there were the posers, in it for the social acceptance, almost entirely aesthetic and repeating tropes without any true conviction. Probably buying their patched jackets from someone else. An argument could be made that they were good for spreading the ideas but if push comes to shove they would buckle under the boot of oppression and revert back to their "normie" ways. I would argue that the ideas they spread are impure and tainted by their underlying need for acceptance with an "in crowd".

So I found myself asking myself a question this morning... Are you a cypherpunk or a cypherposer? What can I do better?

Self reflection is crucial as we progress. This will be my meditation for the day.

I was talking about knots censoring. The scarcity, fixed supply, no pre-mine, no foundation who can force changes on you. There are at least a dozen ways Bitcoin isn't ETH aside from data storage. T...

Yeah, fair points, all valid. However, despite all the noise, and identity politics, surely having permanent CP on the chain is a legitimate attack vector? It's wise to be highly sceptical of anyone using "think of the children" but surely it's equally foolish to not acknowledge the possible threat?

I don't remember the name of it now but I seem to remember some other "crypto block-chain" got wiped out by a similar problem... But that's just a memory... Memories are fallible.
