I'm having too much fun browsing the images at lastmuseum.com .

Here's an example, by an artist I haven't heard of before, Werner Juza:

[alt: We see a stylized landscape of flat, shaded shapes in muted tones of green and tan. In the foteground rounded and elongated greenish shapes remind us of an overgrown field. A thin girl in a red dress leans among it. In the background bubble clouds sail over geometric houses.]

I just finished reading Vonda McIntyre's _Starfarers_ and, as someone who works at a university, the idea of a research university that can fly away to another star system to escape a draconian US government sounds appealing.

@nprofile1q...

The last panel of the Pioneer story is memorable. Pioneer has gone to the big city with the bad guys, where he finally realizes they'e bad and stops them from robbing a bank. This act wins him a $5,000 reward. The last panel shows him walking out into traffic with the $5,000 clutched in his hand.

The whole comic is at archive.org, and I've added a link in the original post. The art in the other stories is typical, professional comic art from the time.
