Signs that the world is ending #1: Ana Kasparian's opinions is a headline.

I would say "Stop it -- we're better than this", but clearly we aren't.

Unsure, and relating to your question, I'm finding it incredibly difficult to convince people to give nostr a try. A pull is definitely needed.

For me personally it was Matt Taibbi announcing that he had an "account" on nostr and that he would cut down on twitter usage. I wanted to continue to follow his work. But this is hardly a general purpose pull strategy.

I'm curious to follow the discussions in the replies to your question.

"New media" pundits have discovered that you can play videos at a higher speed to get through the clip they want to comment on faster. What some of them _haven't_ discovered is that if you don't use a proper playback tool it'll resample the audio so the people in them sound like chipmunks on speed.

If you're going to speed the video up, make sure the audio doesn't get a higher pitch. Very common tools, including free ones, can handle this.

How does one set up a private nostr relay? Is there a reference server implementation, sort of like synapse for Matrix? @nostrich

People seem to go on twitter with the intention to pick fights and read things in the least charitable way possible. At one point one could read twitter replies and get some value from them, but nowadays it's just an endless stream of attempts at "sick burns".
