As bad as the new status quo is, the situation would only get worse with more military intervention.

The only viable path forward is negotiation—and the reality is that Iran is now positioned to negotiate from an even stronger position in many ways.

It’s time to eat the loss and move forward.

This war was a strategic loss for the US the moment it began.

The weaponization of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran was foreseeable and avoidable. The emergence of even more hardline Iran leadership was foreseeable and avoidable.

The US and Israel did this to themselves—and to the world—out of hubris.

It’s likely we’ll remain mired in this new, uncomfortable status quo for the foreseeable future.

It’s very bad, but it’s a direct result of the US and Israel starting this UNPROVOKED, misguided, and illegal war in the first place.

More US military intervention will NOT solve the situation.

Some people are negatively polarizing themselves into implicitly rooting for a return to a hot war between the US and Iran. I wish they’d stop.

Trump’s “not final” remark was in reference to a question about the text of the AGREEMENT, not the MOU, which he reportedly already signed.

MOUs are, by definition, not final agreements.

(Some good explainers in my replies, for those similarly befuddled.)

I have given up trying to understand offsides and the seemingly random number of extra minutes that get tacked onto the halves at the end. Just going with the flow now.

Grateful for sports lately because at least they usually make sense and aren’t evil or incredibly stupid.

(I mean, some of the institutions suck, but the ball play is relatively pure.)
