Thanks for the input, Nico. ⚑ It’s still early. We’re basically bootstrapping the Bitcoin bookstore business from scratch. The fiat competition is well-established and extremely convenient. St...

I agree otherwise except the crucial point: it is anything but cheap. I am the longest serving bitcoin publisher by far and I find myself in a position where I must ramp down, not increase retail (it’s not even a fiat/btc issue, it’s physical vs digital) sales. Not because I want to but becaise I must. Somehow you have an idea that printing, storing, picking, packing and shipping costs nothing and is trivial to set up. If that would the case, why is not everyone doing it? The only reason I got away with it for so many years is because i have over 100 titles in my library. Can’t even imagine how hard it is for smaller opetators. Luckily, ebooks and audiobooks are trivial to list and we have thise too. Sales? Even worse than paper books.

So, I dunno. Point your browser to https://konsensus.net/books and get some books with sats. Lead the way. Money where mouth is.

⚑ To all Bitcoin book authors Too many of your books are only available for fiat on Amazon. This is disappointing. You expect people to adopt Bitcoin, yet you don’t make it easy for them to pay...

The main reason people do amazon only is lack of demand, not authors’ unwillingness to provide sats option. I have had books available for lightning since 2019 and most of the volume has been through Amazon. Plebs are the ones needing to put their money where their mouths are. In my experience ”hard money enthusiasts” have many demands, less in the action front.

For Ebooks you can use Zeus and deliver the content automatically via email. Print on demand for sats doesn't exist to my knowledge, so for physical copies you have these options: Partner with Ameri...

Yeah, distributing yourself or even with a distro company is hardly worth it unless you do big volume. Been at it for 8 years and can tell you that having books available for sats is not the bottleneck. Bitcoiners are cheap and unwilling to part with their sats. I have had books available for lightning since 2019 and can say the main issue is lack of demand.

Ebooks are totally kyc-free. Not even email is needed. Lightning payment into download link. That’s it. Same for audiobooks (don’t have many yet but will).

Got fired? It is your lucky day!

You are now free to pursue YOUR vision, not your boss's or the CEO's.

Your technical ability, it turns out, was easy to replicate and replace.

But no no one replace your vision.

It was always your edge.

Layoffs can free people, but β€œvision” isn’t a moat by itself. Markets replace technical skill, ideas, and founders all the time. Edge is execution + distribution + timing. Saw plenty of brilliant unemployed people with vision; rent still won the argument.
