I'm installing a new dishwasher. Always a tedious process but the number of tools you need is bonkers. For the screws I had to take out to attach the power cord, water and drain I needed a Flathead, a Philips and two different nut drivers... 🙄

On one hand there is and has been a tendency for people my age to react negatively to new technologies because they change how the world works and that tends to compound the alienation that comes with ageing. On the other hand, the new technologies that make me uncomfortable are objectively exploitative and destructive. So, when I say "it's them damn phones" know that it comes from a place of contemplation. ;⁠-⁠)

I had some leftover black beans and I wanted hummus. So, I made black bean hummus. It's really good! I just used my regular hummus recipe (tahini, lemon, olive oil, roasted garlic and salt) but replaced the garbanzo beans. I know it looks "interesting" but it's got a lot more umami than traditional hummus. Give it a shot! #food #cooking #hummus

My wife is a rural family physician. She has a huge administrative paperwork burden. She's been using an android tablet to connect to her EHR so she can work on the road and when she has downtime around the house. Sadly Google's speech to text doesn't know medical terms which slows her down. I'd love to be able to update the dictionary for the STT engine but search is completely polluted with AI transcription agent spam. Anyone done this? Thanks! #medical #physician #transcription
