@Jeremiah Fieldhaven

#IndieGame developer creating Project Shinar, a 3D puzzle game set in the neon-glowing, TRON-inspired world of The Mainframe. Currently working with Unreal Engine 5, several cursed workflows for asset creation, and unfeasibly large quantities of tea.

Software developer since the 1980s, Gentoo #Linux user, #EliteDangerous Commander, occasional Thief level builder, living on the edge (of the High Peak in England), humanist, arguably a bit of a muppet. He/Him.

@nprofile1q... At a very rough estimate, I think we could make 8, possibly 9, sites in a day in the local area - although it'd depend on traffic around the south of Manchester so that could be a bit optimistic.

I am definitely curious what their system would do though, as apparently each site gets money for each visit by members.

Earlier this year, Mrs Fieldhaven and I became National Trust members. Since then we've visited several NT sites, at each site we scan our membership cards for entry or for parking. Then a few days later their system emails us a "thank you for visiting $place" email.

This got me wondering what would happen if we planned a route to visit many NT sites in one a day. Would we get one email, or one for each site, or would it send a "Come on, you're just taking the piss now" email. It's tempting...

Almost every time I see a photograph of someone taken before something like 1970, and then find out how old they were when the picture was taken, I'm always utterly shocked.

People who I'd guess to be in their late 40s or 50s turn out to be 18 or something equally bonkers.

I don't know if it was the lead in the air, or that everyone smoked, or what.
