I hear many prominent / high profile bitcoiners keep saying the reason they oppose Luke’s reasoning is because “filters don’t work” “it’s not easy” “I’m as opposed to jpeg as much as anyone, but there is no solution”.

Now this potential soft fork is a solution. Do you still want jpeg and garbage on chain, or do you not? I think the true colour of many people will show just by looking at which way they lean.

While he’s not ENTIRELY wrong… as in I wouldn’t be able to say for certain that the state won’t do a 180 and turn against bitcoin and outlaw it (I agree that if our governments collectively outlaw bitcoin, anyone who owns in will be jailed for 10 years, then we could be in trouble), I think he failed to listen to Natalie’s point of “we are not seeing it”. Bitcoin being embraced by the elites is seen as a negative by Dave (“Larry Fink is not your friend”), but at the same time after Larry Fink embraces it we can be pretty comfortable that the “anyone who owns it gets sent to jail” won’t be happening.
