I haven’t had too many diseases issues with tomatoes. 🤞

I am growing a bunch of specialty Italian tomatoes this year. Costoluto di Cremona and Italian heirloom. https://blossom.primal.net/5332e012f96f4408c5ac8b9c65daf5f5f2c74faa6854f5bc4d35c8cefc86becd.jp...

Most years we grow costoluto florentino and it is one of the most versatile tomato variety I have found so far: they are amazing paste tomatoes, making for great sauce, but equally delicious just in itself as a beefsteak tomato… and stunningly beautiful on top of it!

Thanks! I will grow that next year. Surprisingly Italian tomatoes tend to do well in my cool climate. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Look at that color!: Making rhubarb jam for @SweetSats today!

When I grew up rhubarb was always one of my favorite treats- which is odd for a child, since rhubarb is very tart and not necessarily on the sweet side. During rhubarb season my mom always made Rote Grütze, a traditional North German desert with rhubarb and red berries, as well as rhubarb jam for the entire year. A tradition I keep up and continued into my own adulthood: after all those years still one of my personal favorites!

Nice! A recent hack my wife just taught me is dipping the cut ends of raw rubarb chunks into granulated sugar and just eating it like that. Makes a nice little sweet snack.

LOVE rhubarb it’s my absolute fave. I always have some diced in the freezer to make apple & rhubarb cake later in the year.

Spring is here and with it finally fresh food from the garden. Would be hard for me to permanently go back to not growing a large amount of our food consumption by ourselves.
