I thought ugly pixel art scaling filters are a modern scourge, but I just found out that LucasArts used to apply them in the Macintosh ports of their adventures to boost their perceived resolution.

Looking at the screenshots, they would have achieved much better results by simply hand-crafting high-resolution variants for all in-game text and leaving everything else alone.

@nprofile1q... The mystery was complete in the beginning; you wouldn’t even realise this was an apocalyptic story for a long time. I presume the title itself served as a deliberate misdirection, and it certainly worked on me.
