If you'd want to contribute a packaging for Slackware, feel free to submit a pull request. FIPS has a lot of moving parts though, so there are a lot of subtle parts to the install that might take some iteration.

We've had some long standing problems with the test-us01 bootstrap node, but thought we'd gotten past those. test-us03 is generally reliable. @Arjen

That's not a normal distribution; it is leptokurtic. It has a narrower central portion and fatter tails. "Standard" deviation is a poor measure of likelihood here, as rare events occur much more often than a normal distribution would predict.

There is a whole history of financial disasters in the last few decades from not understanding this.

This is a tough one. I've had clients with top-notch professional devs get on the AI coding assistant path and lose a lot of their cohesion and ability to collaborate.

I think we're all discovering how to do this in real time.

Native integration/network adapter?

I've used these in the past (DVD format) without a problem so far, but back then you really had to make sure to buy a DVD drive that supported M-Disc writing (for reading any DVD drive will work). Don't know how that's changed more recently. I guess they have Blue-ray format now which is much better in the regard.

One thing to keep in mind is their claims to longevity are based on extrapolating from design and testing in the short term; there's no real way to support their claims without actual experience. So YMMV and take that into account in your planning.
