It's really the only rational strategy for the time being. Only when a majority saves in bitcoin as a store of value would you expect the equilibrium to shift.

It is hard to escape the game theory of this.

Unless and until everyone prefers to store value in bitcoin, it doesn't make sense to use it as the unit of account.

If it isn't the unit of account, it's difficult to justify using it as the medium of exchange.
