Too many people see the world in false binaries.

You don't have to choose between money or a creative job, there are paths that lead to both.

You don't have to choose between a family or a fulfilling career, there are paths that lead to both.

You don't have to choose between your health or extraordinary results, there are paths that lead to both.

The sacrifices and the price you need to pay to get what you want are often not what the rest of society will claim to be.

Don't listen to people who only find satisfaction in suffering for the sake of suffering, it's a skill issue, or a self-love issue; the most talented people build a wealthy and happy life whilst enjoying the journey itself.

You can't compound intelligent decisions and attract luck into your life unless you understand how to maintain a clear mind in a high-energy body: being physically exhausted and mentally overstimulated is how you compound silly mistakes despite "working hard and doing your best."

Success boils down to building the right type of wealth, the one that involves freedom: to become who you want to be, to nurture your unique talents, to enjoy laughters and deep conversations with your family and friends, to watch your children grow up and patiently guide them, to take calculated risks without feeling anxious, to read timeless novels slowly, to build your ambitious vision on your own terms.

There is nothing more common than rich people who are very far from being wealthy.

The best things in life actually don’t cost that much money, but only after you invested enough in a mind capable of appreciating depth. Money is just a tool to be free from the anxiety of whether you’ll be able to pay your bills, feed your family, never betray your core values.

A lot of people choose to go to therapy to rationalize their mental struggles instead of making the efforts to stay in great physical shape, being a good role model for their kids, and reconnecting with what they always loved to do as a kid. Mental health is hard to find without physical and spiritual healths.

When you grow up with immigrant parents who never got the chance to get a good education, who earned the minimum salary working with their hands, whilst never going on vacation or buying anything for themselves, and who never complained about it because they were happy to be able to feed their kids, you naturally have less empathy for people who grew up in a country full of opportunities and who were fluent in the local language, and yet, who somehow put themselves in a terrible financial situation just because they didn't feel like working most jobs that were "below them" or because they couldn't handle the "humiliation" of downgrading their lifestyle after learning about what "success" looks like on social media.

Your parents’ sacrifice is real, but financial struggle isn’t a moral hierarchy—systems play a role too. Reminds me of how narratives shape reality, like China reframing Taiwan’s status linguistically (“reunification” vs. “invasion”). Words define the battlefield. https://theboard...

A lot of people with little talent choose careers where they can maximize their financial gains, then they feel better about themselves as they look down on people who struggle financially, but it's obvious that true success is when you feel no need to judge the lives of others, because you are having fun every day developing your own talents and becoming who you want to be, and people who are on such a path don't think much about money at all, although many "accidentally" become wealthy during the process, and not just in the financial sense.

When you go to school, you think you are busy, until you become an adult and have to take responsibility for where you are in life.

When you are an adult, you think you are busy, until you become a parent and have to take responsibility for where your kids are in life.

When you are finally old and full of free time, you think you can finally do everything you want, until you realize that most of your life is now behind you, and that was it.

A successful life is the art of enjoying what happens during all those moments when you think you are "too busy" to appreciate them.

It’s not a coincidence that most wealthy and successful people have a supportive family; people love to think that having no responsibility and a lot of free time would lead to incredible productivity, but the reality is often that they often end up wasting many years or even decades on pet projects that are completely disconnected from real needs, instead of focusing on ambitious goals that actually matter to everybody.

Most people don’t lack conviction, you just need to look around to see tons of people riding their investments down to zero; what they lack is good judgment and the humility to question their judgment; at some point in life, if you don’t have the family, the friends, the wealth, the achievements you think you deserve, you need to fix the direction of your efforts.

The people who resent you the most aren’t those you simply ignored, it’s the people you once helped, but somehow, they felt entitled to more, and as things weren’t working out for them, they grew bitter, started to look for someone to blame, came up with an imaginary story, and started to genuinely believe that it was all your fault.

You don’t understand the value of jobs until you create them.

You don’t understand how much your parents did for you until you become one.

You don’t understand how much of an advantage it is to grow up wealthy until you have financial freedom.

Gratitude comes from experience.
