I watched a recent youtube video by Bankless called Did Ethereum Crash, and learned that there are things called clients in Ethereum. "A client is an implementation of Ethereum that verifies data against the protocol rules and keeps the network secure." And there are various types/flavors of clients, and this is thought to be a good thing as they saw in the recent Ethereum problem, which turned out was fixed by a few types of clients, but a couple (or one, forget) could not handle the situation that had come up, and it caused a delay in finalizing transactions. But it seems to me that the clients MUST have some sort of baseline Ethereum software, and this problem should have been handled the same in all the clients - that is, recognize this problem problem and fix it. But then again, HOW WAS I TO KNOW... nyuk, nyuk, nyuk...
trying to get some additional bitcoin wallets (hardware and software) set up... so I wanted to send a small amount from one wallet to another as a test. I guess the amount I used was WAY TOO SMALL ($2.50), But it wasn't rejected, was accepted. And that was 22 hours ago. I can see the transaction via mempool.io ... And it estimates it will take another several hours (which is what it said 22 hours ago)... I see the transaction on the receiving wallet side of the transaction - but there are ZERO confirmations. So, this surprises me. I know/have heard about the mempool getting backed up, due mostly to ordinals. But this is something else. Yeah, I know - should have used lightning for the tiny transaction. But the receiving wallet is BitCoin only, doesn’t use Lightning…
Every time I see “snort”, I think of this MOST AMAZING open source “network intrusion prevention system” software, created in 1998 => https://www.snort.org/
It is often said and it has been passed down from generation to generation, via encrypted smoke signals => SnottyNostril is a favorite among the most runny of bitcoin nasal enthusiasts…
