BIO did not start as an abstract idea.
It began with direct exposure to the conditions inside orphanages, places where support is often insufficient, and where children face challenges that are rarely seen from the outside.
Those experiences led to a decision: to act, and to build something that could make a tangible difference.
A LONG-TERM VISION
While current efforts are focused on Benin and Togo, BIO is designed to grow.
The long-term vision includes:
1. expanding to other countries
2. supporting more orphanages
3. increasing awareness and understanding of Bitcoin
4. creating lasting, sustainable impact

Bitcoin in Orphanages accepts donations in Bitcoin, as well as other forms of support.
Every contribution helps provide:

In many parts of Africa, thousands of children live in orphanages where basic needs are not always met. Behind the walls of these centers, daily life can be harsh: limited food, inadequate healthcare, deteriorating infrastructure, and restricted access to education.
This is the reality that led to the creation of Bitcoin in Orphanages (BIO), a project built on both compassion and innovation.
A MISSION ROOTED IN URGENCY
Bitcoin in Orphanages (BIO) is an organization dedicated to improving the living conditions of children in orphanages, currently operating in Benin and Togo, with the ambition to expand to other countries facing similar challenges.
The idea behind BIO is simple: no child should grow up in neglect due to lack of support.
In many of the orphanages BIO works with, the needs are urgent and ongoing:
1. insufficient access to food
2. limited medical care
3. unsafe or deteriorating living conditions
4. lack of educational resources
A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO CARE
Since its launch in 2022, BIO has taken action across multiple areas:
1. providing food and essential supplies
2. supporting access to education through school materials
3. improving healthcare access
4. renovating and building infrastructure
5. creating moments of joy and emotional support for children.
The goal is not only to help children survive, but to give them the chance to live with dignity.

What makes Bitcoin in Orphanages different is its use of Bitcoin as part of its approach.
Bitcoin allows the organization to:

It reflects something similar to racism, some people don’t become that way, they are shaped that way from the start.
