Podcasters can create events in their TrueFans Admin Dashboard and the events then appear on their podcast page.

The podcaster can either link their ticket sales to an external webpage or use TrueFans to sell tickets directly in the app via Apple Pay / Stripe.

2. The co-inventor of podcasts, Dave Winer, is busy inventing a new social network - using RSS.

Here’s RSS.chat uses RSS under the hood. Is this the cross-app comments system that podcast apps have been looking for?

3. Micro.blog, a blogging platform, has expanded its video and podcasting offering, including support for video podcasts using the alternateEnclosure. It will also post video to YouTube and PeerTube, and do some rudimentary fixes for podcast audio level.

1. Last week, James suggested that we should "stop expecting podcast apps to work for free", and we need to cut them into revenue in return for sharing better consumption (measurement) data for advertisers.

In response, James received an email from Amy Dugger, who disliked his suggestion that apps should also get a cut of the advertising dollars and that only creators should be compensated.

5/5 So when the podcaster publishes a new episode, then and only then do we take a micropayment from the fan's monthly budget and pay the podcaster.

But if the podcaster stops publishing episodes anymore, then we don't keep paying the podcaster. i.e V4V

4/4 - Finally, the TrueFans funding tag works slightly differently. When the fan chooses the monthly amount they wish to pay, this is a maximum budget per month.

So if the podcaster publishes a new episode, only then do we take a payment from the fans monthly budget.

But if the podcaster doesn't publish anymore episodes, then we don't keep paying the podcaster.

The podcaster only gets paid if they continue to publish more episodes. This is a great example of V4V.

3/4 - For example, with the News Agent podcast, there is no funding tag in the RSS feed. So we turned on the TrueFans funding option for all fans to pay the podcast either through SATs or local currency,
