Get ready. Angry Sightless Scribbles post incoming. Yesterday a fucking Tech Bro just came into an independent bookstore, where everybody was happily reading, drinking hot chocolate or tea, and this d...

@nprofile1q... THIS! I am one of the people who's brain actually doesn't have the power to imagine a full scene like that, one of the people that his tech might try to market to. But, nonfiction though this is, it connected with me. This is actual fucking writing, the kind a machine can't do. I felt the emotional tides of it. I can't smell the scents and feel the textures you describe, my imagination can't override my senses even at the smallest level, but I can feel the current of this. It's human like nothing else can ever be.

#mastodon admins. Help? @nprofile1q... is the owner of their instance, but that account is a migration from a previous one. No matter what they do, it seems that the info on the about page, administered by, contact email, and the about text just will not update from the old values. Is there something we're missing? Or should we contact masto.host about this?

@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... Friend of mine recently recommend what I think are called pharmacogenetic tests. Basically you give them a DNA sample and they send it off to a lab, which is able to use it and some other chemical markers to determine how different meds will react with you, identifying personal side effects and how exactly your chemistry will respond to it. Which is like wait, if they could do this, why aren't they always doing this instead of playing medication roulette? Is it just too new?

@nprofile1q... I always called that meh. And when people would ask me how I am and I'd respond with meh, they always assumed it was bad. And I'd respond with no, it's like, on a scale of -10 to 10, I'm 0. Dead center. Neutral. I feel nothing yet, I need something to make me feel something. Effectively the baseline is an absence of any feeling we really have a label for, it has to be introduced. I don't just walk around happy all the time, nor, thankfully, do I walk around sad all the time, which is depression I think.
