Autópsia do Fiat BR · 1d
Tim Berners Lee busca soluções, mas o sistema fiat está muito doente. Inflação alta, dívida crescente e QE insustentável apontam para um colapso iminente.

The odds of it failing are definitely much bigger than those of it succeeding, not even Paul denies that. But what do we lose by trying? Drivechain has zero chance of being activated on Bitcoin today anyway. If eCash gets even a little bit of usage that may be enough to test Drivechain with real m...

Of course it will flop. I would be minblown otherwise. Doesn’t this guy knows that 99% of Bitcoin users never heard about drivechains or him at all, and absolutely don’t need it ? It feels like a pure egocentric delirium from a lost bratty individual…seriously

Intel is now on par with Apple chips. Zig and zag between AMD, Intel and Apple. That said Google is beating everyone on efficiency with CPUs. In that world compute hardware becomes important, cost of energy becomes important, data becomes important.

Because prices fall to the marginal cost of production in a free market, AI will trend towards abundant and free. It is a horizontal and general purpose technology…..like electricity rather than a...

You're underestimating the cost of compute. This bubble will pop and likely take the market with it (oracle, coreweave, equinix, nvidia), ai capex is deranged. Margins may make sense eventually, but the infrastructure (chips, energy, data centers) needed for compute will remain a monopoly. Its a dotcom replay, and companies that survive (like Amazon) will dominate. Apple is prob in the best position, having not been duped by manic ai investment.

Apple silicon/closed architecture primed for agentic, which 95% of ai compute is used for.

I like drivechains, but Paul forking bitcoin and taking satoshis coins, rather than adjusting how he presents bip300 will just make it less likely bitcoiners will accept bip300. The ecash name is troublesome as well, designed to antagonise bitcoiners.
+ someone will do the same fork without stealing satoshis coins, which will dilute his own community of forkers.
🍿 time I suppose

Paul's inability to read a room is reliably consistent.

On Seedsigner, its the most used foss diy signer, there is no excuse not fund beyond nepotism from some in the opensats team (thats all we can conclude), which is dangerous, not in bitcoins interest. I can see why many are skeptical of opensats impact.
Fixed by making the submission process open, its too much power over bitcoin for these decisions to be a blackbox.

I have an automated daily donation sent over lightning to opensats' lnaddress. In your opinion, what's a more effective target for my cron job? I'm much more interested in supporting FOSS than what seems to be a business accelerator.

And may I add, i am personally prob responsible for coordinating the most hardware workshops in bitcoin, and have been driving force inspiring people to build hardware. Ugh, what a shitshow
