There's not even an actual manual either in the packaging or on the website. Everything seems to run over forums where people discuss how to do stuff.

I didn't want to spend ten times more than I paid for the thermometer to connect it to home assistant, so enterprising as I am I decided to look up cheaper thread border routers.

And I found one, a Sonoff Zigbee Thread dongle.

Nowhere there it was mentioned that it seems the only way that is supposed to work is by connecting it to a whole machine with an operating system I have never heard about (eWeLink Cube) to connect it to Home Assistant.

and no, I haven't gotten them to run (outside of the manual "press to show temperature") because the thing needs a Thread border router.

Which was a new term for me, and one that wasn't mentioned anywhere on the page or the packaging of the device.

Well, turns out they have the Dirigera hub on offer as well, which btw also doesn't say that you need it on it's page.
