How to know you’re at a real FOSS event? You over hear this exchange:

“I wanted to see how I could use Linux to automatically have a video play when you booted so I could Rick-roll my friends”
“I mean, using Linux is taking the easy way out, did you consider writing and EFI app?”

#fossy

It's been a long and hard couple of weeks in the #Linux world, but at @AlmaLinux we've been hyper-focused on our community as always. @Jonathan Wright :almalinux: did a fantastic writeup that gives you a quick status checkin of where we are, and where we still need your help. https://forums.almalinux.org/t/security-roundup-copy-fail-dirty-frag-nginx-rift-fragnesia-and-ssh-keysign-pwn/7315

This is why @AlmaLinux shipped the new kernels with patches for this exploit, even though it was so late on a Friday night. It’s brutal.

I really hope this is enough stickers for @socallinuxexpo

Working on the final prep for AlmaLinux Day: Vancouver! Putting the kids to work, and even got some brand new sticker designs for the occasion! Will you be close to Vancouver on August 9th? Come join us! https://almalinux.org/almalinux-day-vancouver-2025/

So excited for my TWO talks at
@All Things Open next week:

Mon @ 2:45: Freedom vs Sustainable: A Candid Necessary Debate
https://2024.allthingsopen.org/sessions/freedom-vs-sustainable-a-candid-necessary-debate

No event image has ever worked as well with my headshot as this one does.

And the @AlmaLinux booth will have a VERY fun time at 12:30 on Tues.

Are you an @AlmaLinux user who's looking for a way to give back? One of the best (and maybe easiest) ways to give back is to help your fellow users on our forums! No matter your level of expertise, you can always contribute something. <3
