I try to time my eating before a long-haul flight because I'm sure the cabin pressure does something to my stomach and gives me gas. If it's an early afternoon flight I'll probably fast before I get on it.

Yes, a forest of specialists is vastly more performant than a monolithic general model. It means you can go much further with less data and also generate a much lighter model that is faster.

My first year working in London as a grad I got into more debt because my salary didn't cover my living expenses.

The property situation really is terrible now, even outside of London. A crappy 2 bed ex-council house in some crappy town can go for at least £300k these days.
