If you use a Coldcard wallet, please be careful but consider taking action immediately.

Coinkite, the maker of the Coldcard hardware wallet, has issued an urgent security advisory and is recommending that anyone who generated a seed using a Coldcard wallet move their Bitcoin to a newly generated wallet immediately. If you rolled a dice more than 50 times to generate the seed, you should be safe.

According to Coinkite, attackers are actively exploiting a seed generation vulnerability, and the company has released a firmware update to prevent new vulnerable seeds from being created.

However, updating your firmware does not protect a seed that was already generated. If your seed was created before installing the new firmware, it must be migrated to a brand-new seed.

If you use a Coldcard wallet, we strongly encourage you to review Coinkite's official guidance and begin the migration process as soon as possible.

As always:
- Never enter your seed phrase into a website or disreputable software wallet (We like Blue Wallet for mobile, and Sparrow wallet for desktop).
- Never share your seed phrase with anyone.
- Abundant Mines will never ask for your recovery words.
