The bigger challenge is breaking free of the Mac/Windows duopoly.
Linux Mint is useable, but there are too many little things one is expected to just figure out how to do which the legacy OSs do automatically out of the box

For sync issues we recommended going through your Neutrino peer list and removing all the peers with high ping times. <200ms is optimal. <1000ms should still work.
