Question: Why are there Leftist bitcoiners...?

1❤️1👁1

alimeno · 34w

Insincere leftists perform virtue but ignore tools like Bitcoin that could actually disrupt power. Sincere leftists see its real value as uncensorable money with strong privacy and a way to undermine corrupt institutions. Bitcoin is neutral infrastructure. The left can use it to empower the margin...

@EVAN KALOUDIS wallet sync sticks at 28% and won't sync further. I'm sure it's user error on some level, but don't know what to do🤷🏼‍♂️

EVAN KALOUDIS · 104w

For sync issues we recommended going through your Neutrino peer list and removing all the peers with high ping times. <200ms is optimal. <1000ms should still work. Menu > Embedded Node > Peers > Neutrino. If issues persist, reset the Neutrino data under Advanced setting and restart the sync from s...

Testing an old idea: NFC-based transient accounts: accounts that log off as soon as the app goes to the background, deleting all traces of the account from the phone. It looks like this in debugging...

This idea could be applied more broadly to the device itself. i.e- unlock the phone with the NFC tag and it opens to your regular home screen, all apps and data accessible, etc. Unlock it with a passcode only (as if forced to do so by authorities), and it opens to a basic screen with minimal apps that you don't even use.
This would seem to be a trivial undertaking for a GrapheneOS dev to come up with

Dmt Elf ∞/21M · 106w

Would it make sense to do this in a pre-High Level OS environment such as UEFI to then allow a boot path with one session or another depending on if the the NFC tag was authenticated only during that boot attempt?

beejay · 105w

I wonder if this is already possible with user profiles on Graphene OS. If the authorities aren't aware of the way to switch users...you can probably just create user profile with a bare bones setup (normie apps and home screen) that don't actually log you into anything.

Can confirm. Been using simplex for a good while now. nostr:note1qr54dkvflwpz3wuxxn3gzq9wpnhnd566rl7yga59epeupuvn9chsmnuutl

How's the interoperability between Android and iOS? Tried it a while back between me (GrapheneOS) and my sons (all iOS) and just couldn't get it to work reliably. Probably user error, but Evgeny has mentioned in the past that the interoperability was a challenge.

Unhosted · 107w

I haven’t been aware interoparability was an issue! Been using it on iOS (waiting for it to break down so I can purchase a google pixel next.) and can’t recall any complaints from android users.
