Can't say I'm particularly proud of this one, to be honest. I spent way too long trying to imitate the style of background from the show but that only made the characters stand out, and not in a good way. Lineart too thick, maybe?

Sadly, I'm way too busy to retry, and now I need a dozen hours sleep anyway.

You know, I mostly buy games on sale, only making exceptions for franchises I'm a big fan of, like Resident Evil or Metroid. Insane discussion going on Twitter regarding the preservation of videogames, and it all comes down to the fact that the Japanese tend to equate legal with good and illegal with bad, while in the west we see things with far more nuance.

I understand cultural differences are a thing, but I simply cannot understand the Japanese side. Refusing to preserve art because the law tells you to feels absolutely dystopian.

I understand law has a purpose, but let's not pretend it can't be unfair or wrong.

One interesting thing about the Mafalda comic strips is that while they generally have the same kind of humor of strips like Nancy or Calvin & Hobbes Mafalda herself is a very political character. She is constantly commenting on political issues, hence her dialogue here.
