If the bitcoin industry has dragged its feet on quantum protection, this cold card incident should be a serious wake up call.

Quantum literally renders the best entropy to the cold card. Breaking time consuming equations is what quantum is particularly good at.

Im not sure where we are in the process but this is not a 10- 20 year problem its lurking around the corner.

Will it harm multi-sig? Prob not. But this cold card fiasco may be a blessing in disguise, a shake up and wake up moment we all need to protect ourselves against a bigger cryptographic threat.

The fedi app has made it really easy to deploy a federation now. And if you find a federations you trust its a step removed from the corporate/business custodian route.

I personally made a fed with my family and if I meet close families willing to extend in the future it gives you the community approach. Honestly it may be what bitcoin culture has been missing. Since its inception its been "me against the world" its easy to overwhelm one person harder to overwhelm a community

Thats why banking became such a big business. Historically you needed armed guards and physical power to protect it and that's what led to abuse.

Tough, what do you decide? Trust the hardware designers, trust the banks, trust the exchanges?

If you decide you won't trust you can't just stick your head in the sand you have to educate yourself and really scrutinize everything... or buy insurance lol

Fedi is custodial. A vault doesn't have to be. In principle a vault would work by just applying restrictions on your spending patterns. You'd still be in control.

I wish I could find the person who first peddled the idea that humans are either left brained or right brained. I’d slap them for making it seem like I must be one or the other.

Creative or Logical.

I wake up everyday, early in the morning to write. Some mornings my logical brain wants to crunch numbers, iron out a plan, solve a problem.

Other mornings my soul takes over my fingers and lets things arrive from nothing.

I don’t get to decide when I’m creative or logical.
