What kind of nonsense is this from the BBC?! All very "both sides", which will absolutely not be the case. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c39evykp3kzo "Police arrest 15 people after anti-racism and anti-immigration protests" #glasgow #protest Anyone there who can shed any light on what really happened, and who (from which group) was arrested?

If you want to round out your ⚽️ watching with some reading, I finished the other day “The Age of Football: Soccer in the 21st Century” by David Goldblatt. It’s a massive work delving into t...

@nprofile1q... Not read that one, but have read the very weighty "The Ball is Round" by him, which is ridiculously comprehensive.

Frustrating, this. It's actually been reasonably even game so far. The only difference between the teams is a perfect deflection. #LFC

@nprofile1q... Bit worried about the ref though. Every little thing blown, and a couple of non-things (and a free kick to us halted our own attack). Don't think they need the help! #lfc

@nprofile1q... You're more zen than me! I have an encounter like that pretty much every trip, though I am much calmer these days. These bad examples dwarfed each journey by considerate drivers of course, which it helps to remind myself of. Still, being put in danger is no joke.

Come on, fellow Liverpool fans, does no-one have anything to say about this game? #LFC

Rob Johnson @Rob Johnson 1767907780

@nprofile1q... Worried I'll jinx it! I don't know whether Arsenal have decided to sit back, or Liverpool have just stepped it up. Some nice bits of play.

i can't believe Diego Gomez didn't equalize then! #LFC

@nprofile1q... I know! Apart from anything else, it's often the one who maybe shouldn't be on the pitch.

I'm actuallty astonished to find that, at the end of that half, #LFC have accumulated only 0.71 xG, according to FotMob https://www.fotmob.com/matches/real-madrid-vs-liverpool/2gxhcg#4947117:tab=stats

Rob Johnson @Rob Johnson 1762289760

@nprofile1q... Bit like when PSG forced Alisson into a load of saves last season. xG was relatively low because they did very well from difficult chances. We actually defended well that night, even if it sometimes didn't look like it. PSG were just fantastic (though still didn't score).

@nprofile1q... There used to be rings that only did notifications, which is what I want. Spot any of those on your way to getting this one?

BBC: "So close to a #LFC equaliser but Harvey Elliott's ambitious effort against his former club clips the bar." Clips the bar?

Beglin absolutely does my head in. #LFC

Rob Johnson @Rob Johnson 1740601741

@nprofile1q... I thought they had given it as a Newcastle free kick, but I might be mistaken. Which was just an easy way out for the ref, and perhaps meant VAR couldn't give a pen even if they wanted to.

@nprofile1q... Nah, BBC live text says Salah pushed him. Ha! It's quite weird how they rewrite games, noticed it a lot. The rewrite what people have said too. It's all very 1984.
