I made a wrong turn on my bike ride this morning. I decided to do a U-turn and go the way I intended. I cycled around an object in the middle of the road, and was ready to set off in the right direction when I realised the object was a wallet.

There's no phone number to call, so my wife will drop it off at the police station this morning.

Now I'm cycling around home again after our summer holidays, I'd forgotten how useless humans are. In August a lot of my neighbours are on holiday, so at 7am the roads are mostly empty.

Now they are back there are idiots everywhere.

They walk across roads without looking as they gawp at their smartphones.
Turn without signalling.
Run red lights.
Amble about without purpose on dual use paths while listening and watching videos, oblivious to everyone else.

Humans are basically dumb...

After #cycling around the west coast of #Ireland it's back to normal now. Time to go and check on my mother-in-law's dog and see if he remembers me. Then we'll go for his afternoon walk, and then an early dinner before I collapse from exhaustion.

Work tomorrow, which is always fun after being away on your summer holidays. I did check my email already and nothing scary seems to be lurking.

On a #SNCF #TER train in Brittany. The #cycle provision is dire, silly inaccessible bike slots, and no external markings to tell you which door to use. We pay an extra €1 for the privilege of taking our bikes too...

Other people's conversations on a train are so annoying. Especially when they are so annoying and naive. I'm sure they are nice people but I wish one of them would fall asleep or something.

Some people are so lacking in self awareness...

Dublin Houston station has no information boards as you get off your train. We nearly fought our way through the gates, to read the board, to come back through the same gate to get on an adjacent train.

Thankfully the staff were polite and helpful, and I spotted the destination on the train next to us.

#Galway railway station is being rebuilt, but the signage is appalling and you just have to wander around at random to find your way in. I know it's difficult when you're rebuilding a station in the middle of a city but they really have made so little effort.

The #bike provision on the train was clearly designed and installed by someone who has never actually seen a #bicycle.

Today we #cycled past the house of #FatherTed which is just a farmhouse in rural #Ireland. Other than the opening titles I and a few exterior shots I don't think the house was used much for making the series, but that doesn't matter...
