Writing code with #Google #Gemini is fun. It's like having a clueless junior who is very good at searching for things but has no idea what they have found.

It constantly makes suggestions with trivial errors in them or hallucinates a totally impossible solution.

However it's more interactive than a teddy bear or duck, and can be useful.

I suppose it doesn't help that most of the data fed into it for #SAP and #ABAP is utter drivel...

Glad I never allowed #PHP on my servers.

Currently resetting an old #Acer laptop to #Windows 10 factory condition. If anyone wants to buy it, the owner is selling it.

I'm only resetting Windows because most people would want that, but it's not modern and runs much better with #Linux on it.

It's not worth much, less than €200, but it all works fine.

Had a good afternoon at ideal35.fr today. We had a problem with an old Nvidia card unable to detect the screen and sticking to VGA only resolution. The onboard Intel GPU was much happier to detect the screen properly and the HDMI should work even better.

We had a good chat, updated his PC and set the system to automatically update.

I also met a new volunteer who is good with hardware and knows Linux too.

In today's #saintmalo hates #cyclists story the town parked their own service vehicle on their evil mixed use cycle/pedestrian lane blocking it, in the middle, forcing you into the gutter or flower bed.

I know they need to unload tools etc, but they are so blinkered that they can't see the obstruction they are causing.

#Google #Gemini is a way better search that Google #Search is. Not only does it find things but at the moment there are no adverts and crap cluttering up the results.

It tends to make things up and you can't trust it - but then you can't trust what Google Search used to find either. However if you know about the area you are searching for, it is a big improvement over search.

I've no idea how they will make any money out of it?
