Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib revealed disturbing details following an oversight visit to an immigration detention facility in Dallas, Texas, where a Palestinian woman, Leqaa Kordia, has been held by U.S. immigration authorities for nearly a year after speaking out against the genocide in Gaza Strip.

Kordia was detained after appearing for a routine immigration check-in in New Jersey, despite complying with legal procedures. An immigration judge reportedly ordered her release twice, yet the orders have not been carried out.

During the visit, Tlaib described severe conditions inside the Prairieland detention facility, operated by the private contractor LaSalle Corrections. Kordia reportedly suffered her first seizure in her life while in detention, which medical staff linked to malnutrition, extreme stress, and severe sleep deprivation.

The congresswoman said detainees are woken at 4:00 a.m. for meals, face long delays in accessing medical care, and are often dismissed when reporting illnesses.

NEW | The Associated Press reports that Russia has provided Iran with intelligence that could help Tehran identify and potentially target United States military assets in the region, including warships, aircraft, and other strategic positions, according to U.S. officials familiar with classified assessments.

Sources said the intelligence may assist Iran in responding to the war launched by United States and Israel against the country. However, American intelligence agencies claim they have not found evidence that Moscow is directing Tehran on how the information should be used.

The White House sought to downplay the reports, with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt asserting that the alleged intelligence sharing has had no impact on U.S. military operations against Iran.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin responded cautiously. Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for Russian President Vladimir Putin, said Moscow remains in dialogue with Iranian leadership but stated that Iran has not formally requested military assistance.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto threatened to withdraw his country from the Peace Board launched by US President Donald Trump if the board did not serve the interests of the Palestinian people.

He made the statement during a meeting with more than 160 Islamic scholars in Jakarta, emphasizing that the Indonesian government wants to use its role in the board to support Palestinian independence and is ready to withdraw if this goal is not achieved.

The Peace Board was announced on January 15, 2026, as part of a broader plan for the situation in Gaza, following a ceasefire agreement reached on October 10, 2025. Indonesia pledged to provide 8,000 soldiers or more for the international stability force in Gaza.
